Counselling
Culturally aligned counselling for pregnancy, baby loss, parenting and relationships
COUNSELLING WITH ME
Your space, your journey, your time
Pregnancy, parenting and experiences of loss can bring many different emotions: joy, grief, uncertainty, pressure or overwhelm. These feelings can sometimes feel confusing or difficult to carry alone.
Counselling offers a space where you can speak openly, explore what feels heavy, and begin to make sense of your experiences at your own pace.
Whether you are a mother, father or partner, you deserve space to be heard and supported. With specialist experience in perinatal mental health and baby loss, I offer counselling that understands the emotional and cultural complexities families can face during these times.
Many people seek counselling during times of change, grief, uncertainty or emotional overwhelm. Sometimes the reasons are clear, and sometimes it simply feels like things have become heavy or complicated. You don’t need to have the right words or a clear starting point. We can begin wherever you are.
Below you can find the areas I most often support people with.
Pregnancy & Baby Loss
Loss can feel deeply isolating, whether it happened recently or many years ago. Counselling offers a compassionate space where your grief can be spoken about and honoured in your own way.
Support is available for parents, partners, siblings and grandparents.
What this might look like:
- Grief after miscarriage, stillbirth, or pregnancy and baby loss at any stage
- Navigating anniversaries, milestones or difficult reminders
- Supporting partners, siblings or grandparents through loss
- Exploring culture, traditions or faith in how grief is expressed
- Living with feelings of guilt, anger, and/or isolation
Perinatal
Pregnancy and life after birth can sometimes feel very different from what you expected. You might be carrying worry, overwhelm, sadness or anxiety, and for some people these feelings are shaped by previous experiences of loss or fertility challenges.
Counselling offers space to share what feels difficult and find your own way through this stage of life.
What this might look like:
- Feeling low, detached, or struggling to connect with your baby
- Constant worry, racing thoughts or fears about your baby’s safety and your role as a parent
- Difficult or traumatic memories of birth that still feel very present
- Pregnancy after loss or following infertility
- Emotional struggles you weren't expecting
Parenting
Parenting can be deeply meaningful but also relentless. It can leave little space for yourself and sometimes brings up memories from your own upbringing or past experiences.
Counselling can help you slow down, process what is coming up, and explore ways of caring for both yourself and your family.
What this might look like:
- Stress, guilt or frustration that feels hard to share or manage day to day
- Processing your own childhood experiences or trauma that often resurfaces in parenting
- Rebuilding confidence or finding your identity again
- Navigating neurodiversity within yourself and/or your family
- Cultural or faith perspectives in parenting values
Relationships
Relationships often shift during major life experiences such as pregnancy, parenting or loss. You may feel distant, misunderstood, or unsure how to reconnect.
Individual relationship counselling offers space to explore these patterns and understand your experiences more clearly.
What this might look like:
- Communication struggles or recurring conflict
- Feeling distant, unsupported, or unseen
- Adjusting to changes after baby loss or parenting
- Exploring your identity in relationships or existing family dynamics
- Faith or cultural influences in relationship expectations
Couples Counselling
When both partners are experiencing strain in a relationship, couples counselling can offer a shared space to talk openly and rebuild understanding.
Many couples seek support when communication becomes difficult, when grief or parenting pressures affect the relationship, or when they feel they are growing apart.
What this might look like:
- Communication difficulties or recurring conflict
- Navigating baby loss together
- Adjusting to the changes that come with becoming parents
- Feeling disconnected or misunderstood
- Rebuilding trust, understanding and emotional connection
